Hi, I’m Madhur Bhandarkar. Wanted to discuss a script if u r interested in. Pls SMS me back. It’s urgent…’ this is a message that Minissha Lamba and Neha Dhupia received from a man masquerading as Madhur Bhandarkar, from an unknown number.
The distressed actresses called up Madhur to check if he had indeed sent them the message from an unknown number. Said Minissha, “I was confused as I had Madhur’s number which was different from the number I got the message from. Why would he SMS me from some other number, unless he had changed his number? I didn’t respond to that message, instead, I called up Madhur and inquired if he had messaged me. Better safe than sorry. Madhur was shocked and told me that he had nothing to do with it. Many other actresses may have received similar messages and I thought Madhur should be alerted that someone was misusing his name.”
A troubled Madhur rushed to the Khar Police Station to lodge a complaint. Since Madhur was busy on the sets of his next film, his spokesperson, Sanjay Mehta confirmed the news and said, “Some miscreant, posing as Madhur Bhandarkar, has sent a message to some heroines from the industry. We have tried to trace the number but as of now it is unavailable. We have also lodged an official police complaint with the Khar Police Station.”
We tried contacting the caller on 09021358806, but his phone was switched off.
I know Madhur and he doesn’t need to introduce himself if he wants to message me - Neha Dhupia
