Karma Aur Holi Pre-release Review
'Karma Aur Holi', a pre-Holi release, is scheduled to hit the theatres across India on 6th March 2009. Directorial venture of Manish Gupta, the film has been produced by Drena De Niro, Prashant Shah and David Roma and will be released under the banner 'Saregama' and 'Rapture Productions'. The star cast includes Sushmita Sen, playing the lead role. On screen, she is accompanied by Randeep Hooda, Rati Agnihotri, Suresh Oberoi, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Naomi Campbell, Armin Amero, Deepal Shaw, Drena De Niro, Vincent Curatola, Kirk Jones and Kumar Pallana.
The film "Karma Aur Holi" unfolds the story of a couple - Meera (Sushmita Sen) and Dev (Randeep Hooda), living in New York. After enjoying a few years of marital life, the couple finds the "spark" in their relationship to be fading away. They are left with nothing but loneliness, confusion and compromise in their life. To spice it up a bit and add some interesting moments, Meera and Dev plan to have a get-together on the eve of Holi. They invite a few close friends and acquaintance to enjoy the time with them, at their place.
One of the invitees is Javed (Armin Amero), an all-showy and flashy New York based youngster. The struggling filmmaker is a friend of the couple. He is accompanied by his girlfriend - Jenny (Naomi Campbell), who aspires to become an actor. Meera's elder sister - Vani (Rati Agnihotri) is also included in the guest list. Vani's less-ambitious husband Shekhar (Suresh Oberoi) and their 17-year-old son, Vikram, join her. Sujata (Suchitra Krishnamurthy), along with her American born Indian husband Nimish, also turn up in the get-together, accompanied by her younger sister - Preeti (Deepal Shaw), a spoilt brat and a party animal.
Meera and Dev's well-wisher Megan (Drena De Niro) - a Tarot card reader, Asa Taft - a stinking rich Texan and Rich Smooth - Dev and Meera's neighbor, enter the party scene as well. As the party proceeds, the guests find themselves getting involved in each other's lives. All hell brakes loose, in the relaxing evening, when an unexpected incident makes the guests end up in confessing their best kept secrets, to the other people present there. This adds to the drama in the story. The result of all the mess created in the party scene, is betrayal and shattered illusions. To know where the confessions will take the guests and what the colors of their Holi will be, check out the dramatic movie - "Karma Aur Holi".
