Actress Amrita Arora’s marriage was solemnized with Shakeel Ladak by Catholic rituals at Olive restaurant in Mumbai. After the wedding Alvira Agnihotri (Salman Khan’s sister) hosted a ‘sangeet’ ceremo.......ny in honour of the couple. The ceremony was choreographed by none other than Bollywood’s ace choreographer Farah Khan. A formal nikaah will follow on March 6.

Amrita and Shakeel’s wedding was graced by Bollywood biggies that include Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan, Arbaaz Khan & Malaika Arora Khan, Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif, Raveena Tandon, Fardeen Khan and Zayed Khan with their wives along with Twinkle and Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia, Gul Panag, Riteish Deshmukh, Urmila Matondkar, Priyanka Chopra, Mehr and Arjun Rampal, Kim Sharma, Manish Malhotra, Tusshar Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan to name a few. Others included Marc Robinson, Nandita Mehtani, Sajid Khan, Sonia Mehra, Sangeeta Bijlani, Wendell Rodricks.

Amrita was dressed up in an off-white vintage wedding gown designed by fashion designer Ashley Rebello. Ashley used Umelio Ungaro lace and satin for the high neck body-fitting gown, embellished with diamonds and rice pearls.

Bridemaids Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Salman Khan’s sister Alvira and close friend Mallika wore peach coloured gowns in varied shades.

It was a wedding where the stars shone in the afternoon at Olive, Bandra.

Champagne gowns, tuxes and suits and the guests danced about but the day clearly belonged to Amrita and her husband Shakeel.
 
Absentees

Of course, some invitees didn't show up: Shah Rukh Khan (for obvious reasons Salman Khan was there) but SRK's wife Gauri more than made up for his absence. Another familiar face and Amrita's Kambakht Ishq co-star Akshay Kumar; his wife Twinkle was missing in action.

Amrita's bridesmaid  and best friend Kareena was the first to come and the last to leave. Saif was seen holding Kareena very close as if to say 'Marry me right here, right now, Bebo'.

Some of the other attendees included Katrina Kaif, Aftab Shivdasani minus Aamna Shariff, Dino Morea minus Lara Dutta, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Sajid and Wardha Nadiadwala and Wendell Rodericks among others.

Wardha and Karisma Kapoor almost didn't make it to Amrita's wedding as both the zippers of their gowns came unstuck just when they were about to leave home.

Fortunately, fresh zips were sent and attached before they had to change their outfits though they reached late after the wedding was over.
