Why is Shahid Kapur in hiding?

 Shahid Kapur has been discreetly avoiding media and public appearances of late. And there is a reason behind it.

The reason is that the actor is zealously guarding his look for Vishal Bharadwaj's movie Kaminay , for which he is presently shooting with Priyanka Chopra .

'Kaminay' sees Shahid as a brawny guy with a tanned brown skin and a very different hairdo. It has been reported that the actor has sunbathed regularly just to get that glittery sun-tanned appearance. Shahid is also learnt to be sporting long tresses with copper and bleached streaks. He's even got a French beard. Hair dresser E Ram Babu has worked on Shahid's looks in the film.




According to sources, Shahid has been asked by Vishal Bharadwaj to stay away from the media glare for at least four months till the movie's promos go on air. The idea is to keep Shahid's look exclusive. The actor has so far been typecast in Chocolate boy kind of roles. Vishal, the stereotype breaker that he is, is giving Shahid a new onscreen image that he wants to be a surprise for the audience until the film's release.

That is why Shahid is extra cautious not to be photographed while stepping out.

Departing from his Shakespearean adaptations, Vishal is venturing into a different genre in 'Kaminay'. The movie is an action-comedy, something Vishal has never tried before.
