Ashish Chaudhary is the biggest sufferer of Bollywood in the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai's posh hotels. He is unable to express his grief over the death of his sister Monica Chhabria and her brother-in-law Ajit by terrorists in Mumbai's Oberoi and Trident hotels. Ashish was hopeful until the last moment that he would find his sister and her husband safe and alive. However, the destiny seemed otherwise. The grief-stricken actor says, "Till the last hostage was brought out by the security forces, the whole family was hopeful that they were alive and well. But that didn't happen.
He reminisces that his sister had gone to the luxurious Tiffin restaurant for dinner on last Wednesday. They never imagined that they would face heavily armed terrorists storming in the restaurant and start firing indiscriminately upon the hotel guests and the staff. No sooner Ashish came to know about the terrorists firing at the guests than he reached the hotel and maintained a close vigil outside. In fact, the whole family had been praying for their as well as other guests' safety. Who knew that the destiny was against them? Though some people came out, few wounded, but not Ashish' sister and her husband.

According to Ashish, her father got very worried and immediately called on his daughter's mobile. She picked up the call and told him in a shaky voice that there were terrorists inside the hotel who were firing indiscriminately at people. When the call got disconnected, the family apprehended great trouble and rushed to the Oberoi for checking their whereabouts. Though Ashish went on ringing his sister's mobile, but in vain. Hope against hope, the family felt that the couple might have found some shelter to hide themselves from the terrorists. And, they were not wrong, as they had heard reports that hundreds of hostages and others were hiding in different parts of the building.
So, the whole family waited until the news of the National Security Group (NSG) storming the hotel and either killing or arresting the terrorists, reached them. This was the moment when the family continued to pray to God that their kith and kin would soon come out to embrace them. Alas, the couple never came out alive as the authorities conveyed the bad news that neither Monica nor Ajit had survived. The whole family felt the shock and tears came out of their eyes. Ashish couldn't believe that her loving sister and brother-in-law were now no more. No sooner the report reached out than their close friends and relatives rushed out of their houses to lend whatever sympathy or support they could to the grieved family. Riya Sen and Celina Jaitley condoled Ashish's great personal loss. Besides, messages of support and sympathy started pouring in from the rest of the film
On Friday evening, Ashish Chaudhary broke down when he saw that his sister, Monica, and her husband were among the 24 dead at The Oberoi and Trident Hotel. He was informed that the hospital authorities would hand over her body to the family only on Saturday. On Thursday, Chaudhary's father, had said that Monica had gone out for dinner to Tiffin along with her husband and some friends. Though the normalcy is returning to the city, one wonders if the once-popular restaurant has been the site of many tragedies because of the terror attack.
