'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' to dispel the glum mood in Bollywood,The movie hits the theatres this Friday.

Shahrukh Khan

In the industry hit by recession and recent terror attacks, Shahrukh Khan hopes to bring some cheer through his guy-next-door act in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi .

None of the movies that have hit the theatres after 26th of November have done well at the box-office because cinema halls and multiplexes have been almost empty. Now, the much-awaited Yashraj Films presentation 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' might dispel the glum mood.

In fact, such is the demand from the exhibitors that the movie is reportedly releasing with a record 1,200 prints.

The curiosity is particularly sparked by the fact that the movie marks the coming together of SRK and Aditya Chopra after eight long years since Mohabbatein .

Given the somber mood prevailing in Mumbai, SRK has wisely chosen not to promote the film before its release. Yet the production house is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure a wide release for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.

According to the Yashraj spokesperson, 'RNBDJ' will have the widest ever overseas release for any Hindi film, with simultaneous release in USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, all over the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Nigeria, Fiji Islands as well as all major European countries including Holland, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland.

The movie, introducing newcomer Anushka Sharma , tells the story of an ordinary, unsophisticated man who undergoes transformation to win the heart of a woman he loves.

The movie hits the theatres this Friday.
