Nude scene in 'Rang Rasiya' clears Censor hurdle,Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen play the respective roles and the film also has scenes of frontal nudity shot on Nandana.
A very crucial scene involving nudity in Ketan Mehta's upcoming film Rang Rasiya has reportedly been cleared by the Censor Board.
The controversial film tells the story of the legendary Indian painter Raja Ravi Verma and his muse Sugandha who sometimes posed nude for the artist. Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen play the respective roles and the film also has scenes of frontal nudity shot on Nandana.
There is one particular scene of nudity that is very crucial to the film's narrative. It was feared that the scene would come under the Censor scissors, but surprisingly, the board has cleared the shot.
Since Raja Ravi Verma was himself tormented by censorship issues, the movie's theme greatly deals with the subject of censorship of art. And according to Nandana, the scene with frontal nudity is at "the very core of the film".
Probably, the members of the board too realized this and cleared the scene in the film but objected to its presence in the opening credits.
The scene has reportedly been shot aesthetically and there is nothing vulgar or obscene about it.
