This is a 1 minute vocal by Salman Khan laced with Beethoven's symphony. I didn't find it very interesting. You can figure out that this vocal is about Music composers and Salman's attitude !

Tu Meri Dost Hain

This is the song and instrumental we've all heard in the first look and promo. This song is very catchy and you'd love it instantly. This is a romantic number easy on the ears. Nothing special or innovative about it but an excellent song nevertheless. I thought KK sung this song before I saw the singers for this song. Benny, one of Rahman's commonly used voices does a good job. Shreya Ghosal finishes the song beautifully. No wonder she is one of the country's best singer. Excellent Song !!!

Shano Shano
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Srinivas, Karthik, Sunaina, Vivinenne Pocha
A weird sounding name for a song. This song belongs to discotheque. The songs starts off with some funky techno beats. "Shano Shano ... Oh Oh Get on the floor ... Shano Shano". I think this is a song where all three brothers perform. The mood of the songs transforms from Discotheque to Tapori few times. I might be wrong on this but I thought at times the song brought back the 80s style of music. I guess the mood of the song is different for different lead actor. This is one of the typical ARR songs which definitely will need few listens. The song has a great start and there after it's average. I wouldn't call it an excellent composition but it's a good one.

Tu Muskura
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali
I can't remember a single mediocre or average song that ARR and Alka Yagnik collaborated. Their unison result in beautiful songs. A simple situational song with sensational music is what I would describe this composition. This sad song depends on the vocals of Alka and Javed Ali (Of Jashn-E-Bashara fame from Jodha Akbar) more than the instrumentals or the music itself. The song has a great beginning. Rahman has mixed the title theme in the song effectively. The songs ends on a classical note. Listen to this a few times and you'll love this song. I loved it the very first time I heard it. VERY good !

Mastam Mastam
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Naresh Iyer, Benny Dayal
I thought I'd call this song mediocre. Everytime I listened to this song, it grew on me. This song comprises of rich lyrics, dhols, claps and terrific singing. It's a very simple song. A.R.R has not tried anything new or innovative but he has still succeeded in giving a good song which I think might be a situational one. Good one !

Zindagi
Singers: Srinivas
Srinivas has a good voice but his songs are terribly boring ! He tries real hard to sing well but his songs just don't excite me. At about 2:45 in the song is when it gets a little exciting. The vocals and the beats were similar to "Now we are free" from Gladiator. This is a sad song and is the odd number in this album ! I could not get myself to listen to this song more than few times ...

Dil Ka Rishta
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod, A R Rahman, Clinton Cerejo, Suzanne D'Mello, Vivinenne Pocha
Coming to the song I wanted to review ... This is truly an amazing song. Roop Kumar Rathod starts with "Ek Jaan Hai Hum" in his deep voice. After an interesting orchestra, fusion of classic carnatic (Piano mainly) and theme music, a chorus with Sonu leading the pack takes over.
"Passion and aggression can live it's own way, Oh Dil Dil Hai Dil Dil Mil Jaane De..."follows . This song is so Indian but I couldn't make out what genre this song could possibly belong to. Rahman has tried something very unique with this song and am so glad he did ! It is my opinion that this song is full of life and is very soulful. This song brings the attitude of today's youth which according to Ghai is the theme of the movie. Watch out for the heavy orchestra and Rahman's vocals at 4:10 on the song. It's very hard to say who has excelled in this song. Is it Rahman for his brilliant music ? Or is Gulzaar for his awesome lyrics ? Or is it Sonu Nigam ? Or Subash Ghai for bringing all these talents together ?I've listened to this song more than 20 times today and it's Outstanding ! This is my favorite song in the album.

A very different song. A semi-classical song rendered very well by Vijay Prakash. To me the best part of the song is when the instrumental of "Tu Muskura" blends with the vocals. This is a very short number and I listened to it again and again. I should add mainly because of "Tu Muskura" instrumentals. This is a very good song but definitely needs more listening time !

Shano Shano Remix
The first thing that came to my mind when I listened to this was: "Wow it seems similar to the song swing by Savage". But that's just a 30 second start after which Shano Shano takes over. Nothing extraordinary with the song. The remix raps at times and has some good beats and moves at a faster pace. I believe this is one of those songs that's needed to fill the space on a CD.

Though one is yet to hear the words in the song, just the sound of piano playing in the background with some well etched frames featuring the quartet of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan are collectively good enough to promise a lot in the offering. Add to that a lavish look of the film and one can almost sense a Taal round the corner.

Years back Ghai and Rahman had created magic with Taal which finds itself amongst one of the all time great soundtracks. Though Rahman along with Ismail Darbar did come up with a very good soundtrack in Kisna as well, it went largely unnoticed. Now with Yuvvraaj, Ghai is back with Rahman and one expects nothing but magic from the showman and the maestro!

First look of Yuvvraaj is out and while reactions from the industry as well as the common man are still awaited, those associated with the film are ecstatic to say the least. This is what they have to say about the music which is expected to hit the stands soon:

Salman Khan - “When Rahman and Subhashji come together, they give you the best music. The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding. Its very soulful, peaceful and carries a sweetness of its own with powerful lyrical value.”

A R Rahman - “Subhash Ghai is very different from other directors. He has really worked hard on the visuals. They look really colorful and really romantic. It’s almost treated in a musical way where it’s more realistic than just background music.”

Gulzar - “When I saw the songs of Yuvvraaj on screen, I sent a message to Rahman saying that they were magnificent, and this is a very honest opinion of his songs and picturisation. Great showman puts up a great show! I think the performances of Subhash’s Yuvvraaj will go a long way in carrying this film ahead. It touches your heart.”
