Rahul Dholakia who directed the film Parzania, did cast Sanjay Dutt
for the lead role in GS Entertainment's film Lamha, a thriller taking
place in Jammu and Kashmir: "It is through Sanjay that we will see the
valley and what is happening there." Dholakia plans to steer clear of
the troubled region's politics or militancy and focus on its people
instead. "It is a film that would project how people are living in
Kashmir and how people are living with multiple identities. It is a
thriller for sure and I don't intend to use the popular song and dance
sequences in the movie, which will have a serious theme." Bunty Walia
is going to produce the film, A R Rahman will score the music, and
Sanjay's co-stars will be Kunal Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Shernaz
Patel. Lamha will be pictured in Czechoslovakia and Srinagar. Shooting
starts in October 2008.
