Kareena And I Want The Grandest Wedding : Saif Ali Khan

Wedding bells may not be far away for actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as the two are contemplating marriage sooner than the three to four year target they had set earlier. Saif said earlier, “Oh yes, much sooner. In fact, people may be hearing an announcement from us very soon. If I had my way, I would marry her today right now”.

The insiders say that Babita does not approve of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor pairing in real life, as she considers Saif to be a little older for Kareena. She had no objection to Shahid and Kareena relationship as they were almost of the similar age and gelled very well. However, she is not overtly opposed to Saif, but he would have to make some extra effort to convince her about his eligibility for his lady love. Saif is in Kolkata for a four day schedule of his first home production. Our sources caught up with the charming Khan on his movie and wedding issue with Kareena Kapoor.

Your first home production is called Production No 1 Do not you think it is a weird title for a movie?

You see we still have not been able to think of a title for the movie. For the time being, we are calling it Production No 1 since this movie is my first home production under the banner of Illuminati Films.

What kind of a storyline does the movie follow?

I am totally romantic person. I swear by love, especially at this point of my life. And so, obviously this movie is going to be an out an out romantic film. On a more serious note, we are trying to portray love in the past era and as it is now. Emotional attachment was given earlier more priority but now it is physical relationship that is in the crux of most relations.

How is it like to be a producer?

I am pretty lazy, laid back actually. I hate rushing and running around just for the fact that the world demands that. But of course, I love my profession and that’s where my mentality has changed a bit. In the beginning of my career, I was just having fun. Then I got married, had kids and settled down. I was not even trying to grow. It is only in the last few years that I have started enjoying the film business from my heart. As a result, it would not be wrong to claim that I have grown as a “good actor”. Now here I am, ready to even make films and invest in Indian film industry.

It is a romantic movie, so is not it strange that Deepika Padukone has been cast opposite you instead of Kareena Kpoor?

That’s the limitation of an actor turned producer. You have no option but to obey the director Imtiaz Ali’s decision on the cast. Thankfully, Kareena had already worked with Imtiaz in “Jab We Met” and they are good friends. So, there were no problems. Besides, she will be doing Imtiaz’s next under my company banner. In that flick, she will be romancing Akshay Kumar and that squares the equation.

We heard Kareena drops into the sets of your movie whenever possible. Is it true?

No, not always, but whenever possible. See, we remain too busy with our projects that we hardly get to spend time with each other unless we forcibly do so. Only a few days back, both of us were shooting in San Francisco, I for my home production and she for some other film. Kareena used to drop in whenever she could and vice versa. But she is very professional to interfere during the shots and even refused to look at the monitor.

When are you getting married with Kareena Kapoor?

Generally, it is the media that decides the dates of our marriage and separation (laughs). Jokes apart, nothing is fixed yet. But one thing I can assure you that it is not going to be a hush-hush affair as everyone will be invited, as both of us want the grandest wedding.

It has been almost a year that Kareena and you are together. How has the journey been?

Well, we started off like just another couple. But the constant media glare has grown louder with days. As for the personal front, I have got a true friend and a dream lover in my darling Kareena.
