Akshay Kumar donates for flood-hit villagers of Bihar



The reigning king of Bollywood is indulging in a good cause. Akshay Kumar is adopting a village from the flood-hit areas of Bihar and will help people to relocate and rehabilitate.

The distinguished film director Prakash Jha who hails from Bihar has reportedly got the donation of Rs 2.5 million from Akshay. The superstar has also pledged to do more if need arises.



Jha has set up an organization called Punarwas (rehabilitation) to which a number of Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgan , Manoj Bajpai , Nana Patekar , Shekhar Suman have provided monetary support. Salman Khan will perform at a concert to raise the relief money while Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan have also pledged their support to Jha.

Jha has mainly made movies based on Bihar. He is best known for films like Gangaajal and Apaharan .

His relief camp aims to rehabilitate 5,000 people in Kataiya in Supaul district which is one of the most badly affected areas of flood-hit Bihar.
