Now that Mission Istanbul has released, it does not matter too much. But till the release of the film, one was inundated by news articles about how unhappy Viveik Oberoi was with the manner in which his role shaped up in the film, vis a vis Zayed Khan.

Things seem to have got quite messy with Vivek not turning up for the film's promotion. But the actor did land up for the film's premiere which was held in Delhi. It seems that the only reason that he came was Suneil Shetty. It seems the actor managed to convince Vivek to make an appearance. Of course, matters were not helped by the fact that Zayed officially lashed out at Vivek, who incidentally has the dubious distinction of being everybody's favourite whipping boy. But after having done that, Zayed had the gumption to appear on a television interview along with director Apoorva Lakhia and declare that Vivek is his friend. But now that the film is out, people will be able to judge for themselves whether Lakhia made a mistake or not in backing Zayed against Vivek. Incidentally Vivek feels that he has ended a bad patch in his life and that life has begun again, afresh for him. And he wants to focus on his career strongly without any kind of distractions.
