Sham Kaushal on sets with Danny Boyle

Sham Kaushal, the action director of Slumdog Millionaire didn't win any award for his work in the film, but he has perhaps, the biggest award in his kitty and that is one more film with the acclaimed director Danny Boyle. During the wrap party of the film, Danny Boyle promised Sham a second film and after winning the awards at the Golden Globes, Boyle kept his word.

An excited Sham said, "Whenever the crew or Danny see the train sequence in the film, they call or SMS me. It was probably one of the most difficult scenes that I had ever done. When I met Danny for the first time at a suburban five star hotel, he explained the scene to me. I didn't even know if I was doing the film that time, but I was amazed when I got to know that Danny had seen my films, Parzania and Black Friday."

In the film Sham has directed the a train sequence with small children hanging from the train. "It was very difficult and I asked him for a day's time to try and find a way to do the scene. When I met him the second time I had taken a toy train along and showed him how I planned to do the scene. He loved the idea and before the scene was shot, we did a rehearsal of the scene on a bus."

"After the film was shot, Danny had promised me that wherever he goes after Slumdog…, be it Hollywood or a film in India, I would be the action director of the film. After the Golden Globe award ceremony, the writer of the film emailed me and Danny called me and informed me that he is planning the next film and I am going to be a part of it. He is yet to decide on the subject of the film."
