Amitabh on Bike in bhootnath

Amitabh on Bike in bhootnath

AB's Baby, Abhishek Bachchan, rode some high-tech, mean machines while shooting for Dhoom and its sequel. Now it's Pa Bachchan's turn to indulge in some dhoom dhadaka. The actor par excellence tried his hand at some snazzy bike riding while shooting for his next film,
Bhoothnath.
About the experience, Big B said, "I'm not very comfortable with bikes, even though I've had to do some rather ridiculous operations with them in some of my films — the side car in Sholay, wild histrionics on Marine Drive for Muqaddar Ka Sikander, some intricate stuff on the steps to the church in Bandra in Suhaag, and not to forget the onehanded, accelerator wire-in-the-mouth riding in Roti Kapda aur Makaan. Grave risks, but happily concluded without incident. In Bhoothnath, on the Goa city roads with a whole bunch of us and an excited Banku (the child artist) on the back seat, it was tough at 66 to manage the energy required for the shot. But I handled it."
From the classic bike in Sholay to the complex speed machine in this film, Amitabh described the journey so far as having been a jubilant one. "It has been the most joyous ride," he said, "The road hasn't entirely been smooth. There have been bumps and pot-holes, road diversions and traffic jams, but they've all added to this wonderful experience called life."
So did the 66-year-old superstar ever nurse the ambition of driving fast cars or riding styl
ish bikes? "Yes!" he admitted, "And the great satisfaction of being able to do that now is a fulfilment of dreams never imagined. These days the models of bikes have changed, the price of fuel has gone up, modern technology has made today's vehicles look pretty and powerful, and a lot faster. The motorbike is a great tool for building excessive adrenaline. Its singular operation and open air environment have been its biggest attraction. And then, of course, there's the advantage of your female companion at the back, holding on for dear life and not necessarily with amorous intent," smirked Big B, showing off his humourous side.
But never mind modern development, irresponsible drivers, riders and pedestrians continue to irk him. "I'm truly frustrated," he admitted, "Some people are so inconsiderate about traffic regulations in the city. It pains me and I'm deeply annoyed that they don't follow simple rules like putting on their seatbelts or stopping at a red signal. Many times I think they're colour blind — that they see green instead of red and just drive through. These are just some of the many traffic concerns that can leave one frustrated," he said disapprovingly.
