Actor Shiney Ahuja's bail plea has been rejected for the second time by the Mumbai court since his arrest for allegedly raping his handmaid. The actor was arrested on 15 June by the local police.

While rejecting the bail application, Additional Sessions Judge, S R Trivedi said, "It was a 'serious offence' and there was prime facie evidence against the actor."

In the same way, his bail application was also rejected by the court on 18 July. Shiney's lawyer Shrikant Shivade told media that he would challenge the lower court's order in the Bombay high court soon.

On the other hand, Public Prosecutor, Mr. Rajendra Tajne said, "The court accepted our arguments that if released on bail, the actor might tamper with evidence or try to intimidate the victim and witnesses."

Shiney's case was shifted to a fast track court after Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan ensured that the victim would get justice .
