MBA in Media

Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International, based in Filmcity, Mumbai shall be introducing a first of its kind specially designed course of MBA in Media. The premium film making school of India recently completed its third year and has now entered its fourth year with more than 300 students, out of which around 15 percent are foreign nationals. It is learnt that this MBA in MEDIA course has been designed with association and affiliation with Manipal Univesity, Bangalore.

The 2 year MBA Programme in Media and Entertainment will have specialization in Film, Broadcasting, New and Interactive Media and Event Management. The first year of the programme would be conducted at Manipal University Campus in Bangalore covering all General Management Subjects and Media Case Studies. The second year of the programme will consist of 'Hands On' training at Whistling Woods premises located at Film City, Mumbai. This will include actual production and post production techniques, the process of film making, understanding TV, Radio and other sectors of the entertainment industry.

Today on Tuesday July 28th evening UTV head honcho Ronnie Screwvala and BIG Pictures' Amit Khanna along with Subhash Ghai will be inaugurating this course at the Whistling Woods campus.

Speaking on the occasion Ghai states, "This is the real need of the hour for the Indian media industry, which needs business managers with creative skill to tap and organise the right kind of content and projects, for newly rising companies and also, established ones as well. And these MBA students shall have the feel of film making and business in the environment of Whistling Woods campus."
