Akangsha Rawat News

After doing prominent characters in serials like Solah Singaar and Waris, Akangsha Rawat has bagged another lead role. But there is a twist in the story, producers are keen to cast her but the channel is demanding a fresh face. "I have been turning down so many offers because they all were character, negative or cameo roles. I only want to do a lead role so this serial means a lot to me," she affirms. In all this, shooting dates are getting delayed.

By the time producer and channel settle the matter; she is using her free time constructively. "I have been doing theatres and dance workshops. I am also getting trained in Kathak from Uma Dogra" she shares. She is also learning free style dancing from upcoming choreographer Naresh Shikhri. "He is teaching me Bollywood dancing. I am doing classical and freestyle both so that I can show my versatility as dancer when given a chance," she puts in plain words.

So is she looking forward to any reality show offer? "I did a guest appearance in 'Saas V/S Bahu' immediately after Solah Singaar. Though I was appreciated for my performances in the show, I had to face a lot of difficulties. So as to make it easy for any such opportunity I am getting prepared now," she elucidates. "I chose to do classical because, if you want to make your base strong in dancing then Kathak is scientifically proven dance form. It also helps in acting, as our body and mind needs to have co-ordination while acting," she illustrates.

She is also following a proper fitness regime. "I am doing 'express circuit training' which is recently introduced in India. It is interval training program. In one hour they will make you do aerobics for first 15 min then 10-15 min they will make us do weights then again cardio or yoga. It is full body work out. In every session people tend to lose half to one kg. Each time I lose 700-800gm which I compensate in my diet," she enlightens.

Are you looking forward to size zero? "No not at all, it is very unhealthy and is not suitable for television actors where you have to work day in day out. Size zero is no muscle or no fat which is scary" she opines.

Apparently she is also bitten by the reality bug!
