The Tamil Nadu government Sunday announced huge increases in the salaries of its employees ranging between Rs.1,774 and Rs.7,300 per month.

The pay hike is expected to shoot up the government's annual expenditure by Rs.5,155.79 crore, while the initial cost would be around Rs.11,093 crore, an official statement said.

On the basis of the recommendations of a special committee and the Sixth Pay Commission, the government has decided to hike salaries of its employees despite additional initial financial burden and increased annual expenditures, it said.

"The total payment will be paid in instalments between the current financial year and 2011," the statement added.

According to the statement, the salary increments will range between Rs.1,774 and Rs.7,300 per month from office assistant to deputy collector.

  1. In the TN sixth pay commission, the scale for Superintendents having mere SSLC qualification is being fixed more than the PG teachers’ scale having the qualification PG and B.Ed., which could not be digested by any academician. So the PG Teachers’ scale of pay should be fixed atleast equivalent to Tahsildars’ pay scale as before.

  7. Here after, TN Govt thro' TNPSC may call for Direct Recruitment of Superintendent Post for which Engineering Degree can also be a prescribed qualification inaddition to SSLC. If this would have been happened, Engineers may not prefer for Engineering Job in Govt Department. Because Superintendent is getting more pay than Engineers.Great!!! Official Committee VI pay Commission!!!. SSLC=BE

  9. 100% Revenue from Commercial, Registration and Revenue only. They always not eligible to avail any concession from Goverment. The expenditure departments are realy lucky one. Anyone cannot neglect the work of superintendents, because they are administrate entire office and staffs next to the controlling officer. Before Vth paycommission report what is the pay of teachers and PG Asst. In VI pay commision what about the scale of teachers. Actually this is vii th pay commission but it is called vith pay commission.

  14. Assistants are made equal to Spl. Gr. OAs, SG JAs. The promotive post of Assistants is Superintendents. They are only benefitted. Their starting salary is Rs. 17820/-. But the starting salary of Assistants having more than 5 years experience is only Rs. 11100/-. What a huge difference.
Even if the Assistants get promoted now, they will not get Rs. 17820/- but only 3% on pay with a grade pay of Rs.1800/-. |||
Atleast the Assistants should be given 10% of pay+grade pay as personal pay for writing skill and should be merged while promotion.
Assistants are totally suppressed in VI Pay Commission.
