Gallit Gondhal Dillit Mujra Review, Box Office Report, Super Hit

Popularity in Hindi cinema for Marathi theatre and cinema actor Sayaji Shinde came with his first major role in Ram Gopal Varma produced Shool where he played the rogue politician Bachoo Yadav. Following its success, Sayaji gradually slowed down his work in Marathi films and plays. He went on to do many Bollywood and even South Indian films post that. In fact after 1999 he never acted in a Marathi film till Gallit Gondhal Dillit Mujra which released two weeks back. However, his come back film after a decade is doing superb business all over Maharashtra. Released in over 175 cinema halls it has managed to gross over Rs. 2 crore in just two weeks. Along side the recently release another Marathi blockbuster Me Shivaji Raje Bhosle Boltoy, GGDM is managing to hold its own and even doing well in a select few Mumbai and Pune multiplexes.

Excited with his film's response, Sayaji told us, "I am happy to see the response to my film. I hope to do more work in Marathi cinema. It wasn't a conscious decision not to work for over a decade in Marathi films but just that I wasn't being offered either good scripts or roles."

GGDM is a Zee Talkies production and has Sayaji Shinde playing Chandrakant Tope, a legislator. The film is a political satire that showcases village-level politics. Produced by Pentagon Productions, the film is directed by Nagesh Bhosle.
