Karan Johar's Tarun Mansukhani directed Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra starrer, DOSTANA, was one of the expected successes of last year, which ended Aby Baby's lean run (post GURU) at the box-office. Ditto for John Abraham, who had not tasted success since GARAM MASALA (2005).

The romantic comedy, produced under the banner of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions proved to be a good success, netting around 45 crores from India, apart from a good haul in the Overseas.

Although the film made headlines more because of it's unusual and comic gay theme and John Abraham appearing in (almost!) the buff, rather than its story and direction, and took a lot of thrashing by the critics, yet there have been talks about a sequel to DOSTANA for quite sometimes, but nothing has been confirmed. We now have good news for all those people who had freaked out on the amazing chemistry between John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan and are hungry for more. There is now confirmation of the sequel to DOSTANA straight from the horse's mouth.

Yes, a very excited John Abraham, one of the lead stars of DOSTANA, has confirmed that the sequel to DOSTANA is very much on and it will certainly happen in the near future. And there are serious talks of starting work on the sequel as soon as things get sorted out. However, as all the major stars involved are really busy with their present schedules, things may take a while before any official confirmation.

While on DOSTANA 2, as we were about to file this report, we have heard that Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade may also be a part of the sequel. And unlike Abhi-John in DOSTANA (who just feigned it), Riteish and Shreyas will play a real gay couple in the sequel!
