This day in history 21 May 20091971 - Aditya Chopra born 21 May 1971 is an Indian film director, writer and producer. Yash Chopra's eldest son, Aditya Chopra, has been the torchbearer of the young generation of filmmakers of India. The young Aditya, born in 1971, became an avid film buff from his early childhood. Films were in the genes of the young movie fanatic. His greatest learning has been his vast viewing of films. He started his film career by assisting Yash Chopra in Yash Raj Films' 'Chandni' (1989), 'Lamhe' (1991) and 'Darr' (1993).
1963 - Pravesh Sippy (born May 21) is considered in the film industry as a natural extension to Mr. N. N. Sippy's vision of creating, and consolidating a multi-faceted film business. He is the scion of a traditional Bombay film family
2000 - Sham's Vision, a 27- minute documentary directed by Shaji N Karun on the Agra-based famous master of embroidery Shams-ud-Din who lost his eyesight, has been adjudged the best film at the just-concluded second International Film Festival of Arts and Crafts at Namur, Belgium.
