Preity turns down BJP offer to contest elections from Himachal Pradesh
Although Preity Zinta is known for being outspoken and standing up for her beliefs, she is in no mood for politics. At least not at the moment. The BJP recently offered Preity a ticket from Himachal Pradesh. However, she turned down the offer. Our source from the industry said, "The BJP was keen to get Preity Zinta to represent them from Himachal Pradesh since she is from Shimla. The BJP made the offer but Preity, who has been busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has also signed a couple of films lately, refused the offer."
Commenting on why she turned down the offer, the source said, "Preity is sure of not doing anything related to politics right now. She wants to concentrate on her career and the IPL at the moment."
A non-committal Preity said, "I am not contesting any elections. But I wish everyone votes this time."
BJP spokesperson, Prakash Jawadekar, said, "As far as I know, we have not offered any ticket to Preity Zinta."
However, our source insists that the BJP had offered a ticket to the actress but she wasn't interested.
