I have decided to sue my employers. The charges: turning me into a gawking pervert who can't stop imagining what every woman I happen to gaze upon would look like in a bikini. This whole letch syndrome started with the best intentions — to please your deviant eyes; you who tell your girlfriend that you are buying MW to read its excellent features; you who didn't even throw a fleeting glance at all the masterfully crafted pieces in this magazine before flipping to this page; you who will probably stop reading this right about now because you can't wait to see the next shot. It was to satisfy your lust that I carefully analysed and made a mental geometric map of Mashoom Singha's every curve when I first met her at the Gateway of India in Mumbai last month and brooded over whether the bikinis we had arranged for the shoot would flatter her slender frame, and thus tickle your starved libido.

It didn't help that she brought her sister Shamita along. It was almost agonisingly enticing when they started discussing how they were going to lounge around by the pool at the Radisson Resort and Spa in Alibaug and have a spa treatment later. By the time they were actually doing it, a stupid smile had been permanently plastered on my face that made me look like one of the Braidy bunch on acid.
The shoot at the exquisite resort went off smoothly, and we were even treated to some background music when a pianist entered the lounge bar and started playing Hindi film music from the '70s. Real sexy!
How I'd love to tell you that Mashoom turned out to be a coy seductress. But, to be honest, the model who shot to fame after being featured in the 2006 Kingfisher calendar is really just a sweet, down-to-earth girl who you could imagine lounging around with. Of course, she would be lounging around in her bikini. She wouldn't mind that, as a matter of fact. "It's started to feel like everyday wear for me," she says.
The 24-year-old is a self proclaimed geek, an IT engineer, in fact, and one with a tooth fetish. That's right; she's turned on by a good set of teeth. I suddenly feel very conscious about my jagged meat mincers and suggest that Mashoom hang out at orthodontists' clinics trying to pick up guys.
Mashoom is quite uninhibited in letting me in on some of her drunken stories, admitting that she almost had a wardrobe malfunction last year, and proclaiming that her butt is the sexiest part of her body. We then have a very intelligent conversation about Mashoom's career aspirations as an image consultant, and of her love for adventure. But you don't care about that, do you? You just want to look at her in a bikini. You depraved bastards. I can't believe I had to spend two whole friggin days with a couple a babes in a bikini for you.
