    Twenty one year old Ankita Mohapatra is very thrilled to have won the Gladrags Megamodel 2009 title. Originally from Bhuvaneshwar, Ankita was trained in Pune by Pageant Coach Ritika Ramtri Kumar of The Tiara Pageant Training Studio. Winning the title was a wonderful experience for this talented girl, who has her head on her shoulders. After completing her Btech in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering Ankita decided to give pageantry a shot. And there she was at the Gladrags audition and before she knew it she one among the final 22. What followed next was victory. Besides winning the main Gladrags Megamodel title, Ankita also won the Gitanjali Most Beautiful subtitle

    A trained classical dancing Ankita has learnt Oddissi. Tennis and swimming are her hobbies and she loves to nibble on the steamed momos you get in Koregaon Park. During her pageant training Ankita was staying in a service apartment with her mother at Koregaon Park, as she needed to eat a proper diet. Indeed her supportive parents Dr Saudamini and Sangram Mohapatra helped her get closer to her dream. Ankita.especially liked her time in Pune while she was training at The Tiara. “I had a good time shopping as well”, she giggles.

    What does she think made her win? “Discipline and my inner belief and confidence helped me win. My pageant training helped in making me more disciplined and also added to my overall confidence’, Ankita says. He trainer Ritika Ramtri Kumar tells us that Ankita is a quick learner who inspite of being from an entirely different world was able to adapt and excel in the highly competitive world of pageantry. A girl from a small town like Bhuvaneshwar was able to win a major title like Gladrags Megamodel 2009 only because of her perseverance and grit. Her future plans include going in for further studies. “I also aim to carve a niche for myself in tinsel town”, she smiles. We are sure Bollywood is calling.

But I just want Comment on "Ritika Ramtri Kumar's " comment that She(Ankita) is from a small town Bhubaneswar (not Bhuvaneshwar)...By d way Bhubaneswar is not a small town...it is not METRO it is the Capital of ORISSA. Actually most Maharashtrian do that,,,why I dont knw???But thEY Do...Please ...WE ALL R INDIAN...that's all...NO Small town or Metro...K

    Ankita Mohapatra was in luv with a street romeo n had run away from home.She had even tried to commit suicide and was diagnosed as having mental problems due to which she was taking psychiatric treatment also.

    just came across this web page and was really amused to see all these comments! btw if this person ankita mohpatra completed her btech in 2008 then hw on earth can she be 21 yrs now???? does dat mean she finishd her btech wen she was 20?? dat means she was 13 wen she fishd her 10th in 2002 rite?? oh plzzzz dats totally unbelieavable!!! LOL!!! if she really finshd her btech in 2008 then she cant be less than 23 now coz u need to be atleast 22 to finsh ur btech.

    Its funny to see that most comments are from annonymous accounts......
    What's wrong people? Don't have the guts to post with an identity lest your thoughts become public?
    I've known this girl from the time we were kids. We're neighbours....we live just 2 houses away...My family knows her parents and vice versa. I'm not going to lie and say that we were friends (we still aren't) but we were playing with each other along with her older sister and some other kids from our neighbourhood when we were children. (Not to mention extended invitations to birthday parties and stuff!)
    I was very surprised (pleasantly so!) to find out about her victory(can't find any appropriate word..sorry!)
    Since I've no access to local news and flavours (I'm presently studying abroad!) I heard it from my family back home.
    She'd always seemed to me a 'moody' sort of girl n a bit of an introvert 'cause she rarely spoke....so I'm still slightly shocked(and amused!) that she won a Gladrags megamodel contest! :)
    I'm proud that as an Oriya she didn't forget from where she came from and made our so-called backward state proud!
    Good luck to all her future endeavours!
    (Hoping to see an Oriya star in bollywood after this...*fingers crossed*) :D

    dude i guess its u who needs to get his maths checked...ankita mohapatra is supposed to have passed her btech in 2008 ok? thats wat her frnds said above. so it means she was 21 in 2008 and right now she must be minimum 22, got it?? so how can she be 21 now???

    and if she didnt pass her btech in 2008 then it means she must hv failed in sm class as she used to study 10th with me at dm.and we passed out in 2002.

    Its funny to see that comments are from people who have a problem with her age.In events like miss India and gladrags peagant contests they check the age certificate before declaring the age.So she is 21 and there should be no more confusion.Now claming a student of DM school and her classmet how can u use such bad language.Don't u think u have been taught nicely to use something better.I am surprised see the frustration in u.
