Why did Pritam refuse to compose the title track of Aa Dekhein Zara?

Music director Pritam Chakraborthy refused to compose the title song of Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu starrer Aa Dekhein Zara as he did not want to meddle with the original composition of RD Burman. The producer had no option but to bring in a new composer Gaurav Dasgupta.

Viki Rajani, producer of the film, clarified, “Basically Pritam was not able to crack the song and he conveyed it to us well in advance that we should look for another music director for the song.

He tried hard to work on the song for three weeks but he finally gave up and told us not to push him into doing it. I must say that he did not let us down, he informed us well in advance so that we could find an alternative.”

Pritam confirmed the story saying that he could not get the right style for the song.

He said, “Yes I didn’t want to tamper with the original composition of R D Burman. Also I was not getting any ideas for the song.

The original song was superb and I was wondering how differently to do the remixed version. So, I told the producer to find another music director since I was not able to do it.”
