Billu Barber (Week 1)
Shah Rukh Khan's home production Billu directed by Priyadarshan has taken an average opening in major metros cities on its opening day Friday the 13th. But reports suggest that it is doing slightly better business in the smaller centers than big cities.
The film opened on Friday to 30-40% occupancy. There was a slight improvement with evening shows but not so significant that one can call it a good opening. It has been released with in over 1000 cinema halls including 600 digital screens. If the opening weekend collections don't touch the 75-80% mark then the film is bound to be declared a FLOP. It will face mighty opposition from next Friday's release, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6.
The other release of the week, The Stoneman Murders has taken a slow opening but since its carrying very good reports, the positive word of mouth about it is spreading slowly. The weekend may see a big rise in its collections claim trade pundits.
If Billu flops it won't affect SRK the producer as he has made a clean profit by selling all its rights to Eros but as an actor it will definitely be a blot in his career record.via : RealBollyWood

Now i know why? As there r some people who appritiate movies such as singh i king as it has money, foreign location and glamour. i really feel bd for those.

BB did not open well at the box office first its opening was 30-40% onthe first day the second movie relased STONEMAN murderer ... is rocking than BB ... its got much better review and it will beat BB surley the kind of reviews it carrying...and next friday DILLI 6 is releasing ...picture is clear BB will have to alteast have 80% collection by next week which looks like a tough job as story of the movie is not impressive... its very slow and boring movie.......

ReplyDeletewhen is the people going to understand that SRK doesn't know how to act. Naseerudin, in one of his interview mentioned that SRK is not a good actor. This movie along with all the other SRK movies with the exception of a few movies sucks, acting blows, direction goes no where.

"Billu Barber" is one of those few movies which really carries a soul.After "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" which portrayed love drive of an ordinary man with extraordinary honesty ,"Billu" soares a new height in its simplistic sketch of true friendship.If we ignore the mistake of Priyadarshan where he should have better emphasized the long awaited meet of bread- biting friends with some lenthier sequences we find both the script and screenplay flawless.
ReplyDeleteIrfan leaves you amazed with his subtle performance in every frame,especially in the telephone booth scene and just before the climax scene where he says -"main use janta hoon ya nahin isse hamari zindagi par kya fark padta hai?".He carries his hidden emotions of friendship with full dignity.
The film has taken a slow start due to the pre-release news of playing Irfan leading role and Shahrukh a cameo.It abstained the mainstream audience from movie.But mouth publicity will definitly work.
A must-watch film for sensual audience.

ReplyDeleteBillu is not HIt but it can be declared Semi HIt as in 1st week it collects its selling price around da world n in next week its taking out da profits Eros Distributions who buy dis product from Red chillies are ok da way Billu did in its 1st week n in 3rd week sat n sun Billu will do better than Delhi 6 as Delhi 6 hardly finds weavers so over all its Good news for makers of Billu....n there is lot of things 2 go ahead like Sattelite distributions,DVD's n Music is already made more than 10 cr..Billu costed 25 cr to Red Chillies n they sold for 35 cr + 2 cr for publicity to Eros and at the end Billu will make around 60+ cr over all...

Billu barber ek bahut hi behtarin film hai, is me koi doubt nahi hai, aur jise ye film pasand nahi aa raha hai, ye to samajh me ata hai ko wo cc2c, singh is king, tashan, heyy babyy, hum ko diwana kar gaye, talash, police force, aan, insan, ab tumhare hawale watan sathiyo jaisi faltu filme dekhne ki aadat hai, to unhe itni achhi film kaise pasand ayegi?
