‘Kangna’s past has nothing to do with me’|Adhyayan Suman|Raaz The Mystery Continues (Raaz 2)
After the debacle of Haal-e-Dil, Adhyayan Suman's looking forward to reclaiming a place in Bollywood with his relaunch vehicle, Raaz The Mystery Continues (Raaz 2).
Admittedly traumatised by the blink-and-you-miss-it role in his first film, does he consider Raaz 2 his debut? "Yes. Even the titles say 'Introducing Adhyayan'. I've forgotten that I did a film called Haal-e-Dil. It was no more than an internship for me," he says.
Raaz 2 was good for him in more ways than one, for it was on the sets of the film that Adhyayan fell in love with Kangna. "My relationship is not a secret anymore. I decided to talk about it as it was grabbing more attention than my work," he says, adding, "We are of the same age. Kangna is different from what she's on screen and she cooks very well," he raves. And has he moved out of his parents' home to be with Kangna? "I don't want to leave my parents for anybody," asserts Adhyayan.
And how's he coping with the controversies surrounding his girlfriend's past relationships? "Everyone has a past. I'm Kangna's present. Her past has nothing to do with me," he says.
Back to Raaz 2. In the movie, Adhyayan, a Barkha Dutt fan, plays a journalist. Did he take tips from her? "I've watched a lot of Barkha shows. But I don't like to imitate someone; I just got some insight from her shows," he says.
The Bhatts are apparently thrilled with Adhyayan's work and have signed him on for the lead role in their next film, Jashn, which Mahesh Bhatt is personally overseeing. "Raaz 2, with biggies like Kangna and Emraan Hashmi has boosted my confidence," says Adhyayan. "Getting a film like this when I'm just 20 is wonderful. My second film Jashn will be proof of my talent," says the actor, who also shares a great rapport with Raaz 2 director Mohit Suri. "After watching his Awarapan, Kalyug and Woh Lamhe, I've always been wanting to work with him. We're on the same wave length," he says.
Another talking point is that Emraan Hashmi is not kissing in this film. Is the spot vacant for Adhyayan? "Unfortunately, Emraan's been tagged a smooch king. In our industry, you get labelled if you overdo anything. But in this film, the romance is between Kangna and me," he says.
And Kangna, he says, is perfectly okay with him kissing other heroines. "Our relationship survives on trust. We keep our personal baggage at home," he says. Is marriage on cards? "Oh no! Not for the next 10 years," he clarifies. Before that, he says, he wants to reach a place where people will say 'Adhyayan ke papa jaa rahe hain' when they see Shekhar Suman.
