 Deepika Padukone turns 23 on Monday. She brought her birthday with a prayer at Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai.

She exudes a charisma and confidence that catapulted her to the top league of actresses after her very debut film Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan . Deepika followed it up with a notable performance in Bachna Ae Haseeno and proved that her first hit film was no fluke. She is here to stay, and to reign at that. For, ready to hit the marquee is her next film Chandni Chowk To China that has none other than the certified hit-giver Akshay Kumar at the helm.

The Capricornian beauty today visited the Siddhivinayak Temple with her father, the legendary Badminton player Prakash Padukone, and her mother Ujjwala to seek the blessings of the deity on her birthday. Deepika's boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor wasn't with her.



In fact, there have been rumours about a split between the two, but Deepika has laughed it off.

Just recently, Deepika said in an interview that she was looking forward to spend her birthday with Ranbir but he has not been keeping well of late.

A birdie informs us that Ranbir is busy shooting Wake Up Sid and is likely to meet Deepika in the evening. The lovers then might head for a dinner out. Or may be Ranbir has a surprise party planned for his ladylove.
