Sushmita declares war | Sushmita Sen will play a warrior in a new film, and no, we aren’t talking about Rani Laxmibai

Sushmita Sen might have put her plans of directing a biopic on Rani Laxmibai on the back burner, but she definitely hasn't forgotten period films. She has grabbed an interesting role in Kamal Haasan's next Tamil project Marmayogi. Revealed our source, "Kamal has roped in Sushmita to play a character unlike what she has ever played before. Radiating oodles of negative shades, Sushmita will be a warrior in the period film." The film is reportedly an action drama set in ancient times.

Kamal will direct, as well as play the lead in this film. Added our source, "Kamal screened Dasavatharam for Sushmita and she liked the film a lot. So when Kamal offered her a role in his next, she readily agreed. Also, since she had already postponed Rani Laxmibai, she had plenty of time for Kamal's film."

Buzz in the industry is that this will be a mega-budget film, with advanced special effects and innovative make-up techniques.Apart form Sush, the film will star two more female stars.Our source said, "Priyanka Chopra was also offered Sushmita's role, but, date problems kept her from being a part of the film."

Kamal, who is also making a small budget quickie in Hindi with Tabu said he was busy in a meeting and couldn't talk to us.Sushmita remained unavailable for comment.
