P K Mishra, who penned lyrics as 'Dil Hai Chhota Sa', 'Choti Si Aasha' from 'Roja', passed away in Chennai. He was 65 and is survived by his wife and two sons. A long-time Chennai resident, Rajasthan-born Mishra wrote the lyrics for several popular Hindi numbers of the 1990s, when a number of Tamil films were being remade in Hindi. It was the golden period of music director A R Rahman's run in Bollywood, and the two teamed up in many movies after coming together first in Mani Ratnam's Roja' (1993). He also worked with Ilayaraja and Karthik Raja, and his list of films include Hindusthani', 'Hamse Hai Muqabala', 'Saza-e-Kalapani', 'Duniya Dil Walonki', 'Viswa Vidhata' and 'Love Birds.' |
