BR Chopra, the man behind movies like Naya Daur and Baghban and the monumental project, Mahabharat passed away on Wednesday, leaving behind memories that won't be forgotten anytime soon. And while his Mahabharat was followed by many others epic based shows, none has lived up to the success of the original.
We spoke with actors from Ektaa Kapoor's, Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki as well as his fans about what they were feeling. Aryan Vaid, model, actor, says, "I never interacted with him but I can safely say that it is a huge loss for the industry.
He was a nice person and has done great work. I wish to express my condolences for the family.
" Chetan Hansraj, who featured in both the old and the new Mahabharat says, "I was a kid when I worked with him in the old Mahabharat. He is one of the greatest filmmakers the industry has seen.
Working with him had a very comfortable and homely feel to it." Anita Hassdandani, who plays Draupadi in Ektaa's Mahabharat says, "He was a great filmmaker.
I've seen the old Mahabharat and I think it was simple yet beautiful." Not only in the past, BR Chopra even struck a cord with the younger generation when told that he was the man behind the original Mahabharat.
"Mahabharat was one of the few shows that we remember from our childhood. I think it far surpasses the current epic shows," says Siddharth, a 23-year-old BPO employee.
Swati, a documentary filmmaker says, "He did phenomenal work played an instrumental role in the evolution of Indian cinema. It's a huge loss.
