Bhairavi Goswami loses 23 friends
Across, at the Taj hotel, Bhairavi's close friends were dining at a restaurant. The family of three children and their parents lost their lives when the terrorists opened fire indiscriminately. Bhairavi is an avid horse rider and co-owns two horses with a friend who owns a store at the Taj Hotel. The businessman closed the shutters of his shop at 9pm on Wednesday night and then proceeded to the Starboard restaurant for a drink. Within minutes of the attack, his cell phone was switched off and his family confirmed to Bhairavi in the morning at 8, that he was one of the first to die at the Taj hotel. Bhairavi, who is still in shock said, "I go riding with him every morning. He is my buddy. And now he is no more. I have lost 23 friends within an hour. For the first time I am glad that I had a fight with my boyfriend, otherwise..." The War on Mumbai by terrorists started on Wednesday night leaving more than a hundred dead. Bhairavi is still looking for answers like so many innocent people and the one question on everyone's lips is, "when will the government take steps to retaliate and eradicate terrorism." |
