• What made you enter Bollywood?

Being from a filmy family, I was attracted by the glamour of the entertainment world.

• How did your parents react? Did they have apprehensions about you entering films?
They both were very excited, especially my father. I beg to differ, our industry is not bad. Today, newcomers are welcomed with open arms.

• Buzz is that you are dating music director Shravan’s son Darshan?
Darshan and I are very good friends and we are not dating each other. My dad gave Sanjeev-Darshan their first break in his film Mann. Since then, we are family friends.

• You were supposed to do Genelia D’Souza's role in Aamir Khan’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na? Any regrets
I had auditioned for that film. But things didn’t work out. I would have loved to be part of Jaane Tu… I am not brooding. There will hopefully be a next time when I’ll get to work with Aamir and Imran.

• Your first shot in Karzzzz has you in a two-piece bikini.
Oh yes, I was very nervous. I had butterflies in my stomach. But Satishji (director, Satish Kaushik) handled the scene very well.

• Did you rush to the monitor to check the angles?
Yes, I did rush to the monitor but that wasn’t because I had worn a two-piece bikini. I was just curious to see how I looked on screen. I am confident of Satishji’s abilities as a director and I am a director’s actress. I don’t believe in getting into my director’s domain and interfering in his work.

• We hear that you are not happy with the length of your role in Karzzzz?
Not at all. I am playing Tina Munim’s role from the original Karz. If I was unhappy with my role, I would have definitely walked out of Karzzzz.

• How many times have you seen the original Karz?
As a kid, I had seen it twice. But I vaguely remembered it. When I signed up for Satishji’s Karzzzz, I watched the film 10 times.

• What next?
I am doing a film which will be made by my father. But it’s a bit early to talk about it.
