Imran Khan – from a chocolate boy to kidnapper!
Before taking the film to the floors, Gadhvi did a screen test on Imran. The actor was given a few scenes to enact and it was all recorded on a 35mm camera. Imran shot the scenes but wasn’t satisfied with his performance. He could not relate to the character.
Surprisingly, after the screen test Gadhvi told Imran that he was on board.
Imran says not only could he not believe it, he was ill-at-ease during the pre-production rehearsals. Tried best though he did, he could not get into his character. This continued for about a week or more. But then something happened.
Imran says the character took shape in his mind very gradually and there came a point where he knew he had to create aggression inside him to play the role well.
Then what? Imran took the help of music. He began listening to heavy rock, death metal and grunge music. In addition, Imran tried to change his body language on the sets. He would sit and walk as if there was too much angst simmering inside him.
“Then one day, I can’t say when, it all came together. Everything clicked and I knew the character I had to play,” says Imran.
In the movie, Imran kidnaps Minissha Lamba and holds her dad ( Sanjay Dutt ) to ransom.
