Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp (release on December 26, 2008)
Sujoy Ghosh is producer and director of a modern Aladin version with
Amitabh Bachchan as the genie and Sanjay Dutt in a "flamboyant role"
as his villaineous antagonist, the mighty tyrant Jaffar. Also in the
cast are Riteish Deshmukh as Aladin and Jackie Fernandez, Miss Sri
Lanka 2006, who is going to make her film debut as princess Jasmine.
Sanjay already has recorded his own song for this movie. Sujoy Ghosh:
"Sanju will sport this impish devil-like smile all through the film.
There's a mischievous kid in him who spoils the show for others.
Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt are surely going to light up the
screen. While I have grown up on Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt is the
rockstar I have always adored. Dutt is going to be the surprise
package."
