When Sanju almost lost Manyata…

I have always been wary of Sanjay Dutt. His moods are difficult to gauge and therefore one is always tentative around him. Interviewing him has always been difficult for me. Yet, he has always been a thorough gentleman with me, though sometimes taking my case for not losing weight.

Post his marriage to Manyata, many stories have made their way into our living rooms. One tale oft repeated was how Manyata cooks all his meals so that she can continue to have her hold over him through black magic. I tell you, they are fascinating and as everyone who knows Sanju Baba feels protective about him, they tend to think of everything Manyata does as suspicious.

But what I saw on the night of the music launch of EMI has given me new insight into Sanju and Manyata's relationship. As the show ended and people were making their way for the exit, so were Sanju and Manyata with their entourage. In the mayhem, Manyata's hand slipped out of Sanju's grasp. Sanju just stopped, groped for her hand and turned around. He looked into her eyes and said, "Don't leave my hand, ever baby!"

I think, this ends all speculation. The magic of love can work over anybody and those who are in love, are on a different high. Perhaps that's the world of Sanjay and Manyata Dutt...
