Aamir Khan delighted at 'Taare Zameen Par's' Oscar entry

Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par has been chosen to represent India at the next year’s Oscar awards.

The movie, starring child prodigy Darsheel Safary , beat other contenders like Jodhaa Akbar , A Wednesday , Mumbai Meri Jaan , Rock On , Black And White , two Marathi films and one Telugu movie to secure an entry to the 81st Annual Academy awards.




This is how a delighted Aamir Khan responded to the news of the movie’s selection: "It is a film that is extremely close to my heart. It first sensitised me as a parent and as a person and then went on to have the same effect on the audiences in India and across the globe.

"I hope that it has an equally strong impact on the members of the Academy as well," Aamir, who is shooting in Ladakh for Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots , is quoted as saying.
