ndraneel is autistic. He’s a fully-grown man but has the IQ of a seven-year-old. He works as a waiter in a small restaurant. One day, just before closing time, Maya lands up at the restaurant door and asks for his help as she has missed the last bus. Indraneel takes her home and finds out that she’s pregnant. He helps her give birth to a girl, Gungun and promises to take care of the baby. Maya disappears, never to return.

ndraneel takes care of the baby and the two become very close while Gungun believes that Indraneel is her father. A few years later, their cosy world comes crashing down when Maya’s father, Dayanath Trivedi, arrives from London and insists on taking custody of his granddaughter. He’s all set to go to the court, if necessary. Indraneel refuses to give up the kid and the case is taken to court. The judge hears the case and finds Indraneel not competent enough to be a father. The child is given into the court’s custody temporarily.

The court sets a date for Indraneel to prove that he’s capable of taking care of the child. How will Indraneel achieve this? It’s quite obvious that he’s not even very good at taking care of himself. Will the father and child ever get together?
