Dressing up Mallika Sherawat as a kamasutra princess!
Dressing up Bollywood sexbomb Mallika Sherawat is doubtlessly a coveted job and fashion designer Ashley Rebello was the one to do it in the movie Ugly Aur Pagli .
Rebello, who also designed the costumes for the superhit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na , has basically given a very casual and informal (jeans and tees) look to Mallika’s character of Pagli in the Pritish Nandy Communications film.
But Rebello also designed special outfits for certain sequences that have Mallika in different avatars like that of a cowboy, a catwoman, or a sensuous Indian princess with a kamasutra touch.
For the princess makeover, Rebello gave her a golden-coloured heavily studded skimpy choli and a lehenga which was more like a skirt with a straight cut down from thigh to hemline. Mallika was also given ornaments and accessories to make her look like a kamasutra princess.
For Mallika’s catwoman makeover, Rebello gave her a special black-leathered skin-hugging sleeveless catsuit with a black bandana and a Zorro-like eye mask.
For the cowboy (rather cowgirl) look, Rebello chose a red checkered shirt for Mallika along with rugged denims and long boots with spurs. She also wore a red cowboy hat with a curved brim.
Hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani worked in tandem with Rebello to give Mallika unique hairstyles in all these get-ups. For instance, in the cowboy look, Sapna gave Mallika a braided-hair look.
Rebello and Bhavnani say Mallika was absolutely cool about experimenting with new looks. She also gave her inputs but respected the final opinion of the designers.
‘Ugly Aur Pagli’ has Mallika playing a dominating girl who makes her boyfriend do all sorts of crazy things. The film is directed by Sachin Khot and has Ranvir Shorey as Mallika’s boyfriend.
The film hits the theatres on Friday.
