Shah Rukh Khan not to Perform at IPL Match

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan would not perform at the next IPL
match between his team Kolkata Knight Riders and Vijay Mallaya's
Bangalore Royal Challengers at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 8.

That is because a concrete proposal has not been given by the
organisers Red Chillies Entertainment to the Kolkata Police.

"They gave a verbal proposal to organise an entertainment program,
but we asked for a concrete proposal but they failed to give it within
the stipulated time," Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters), Vinet Goyal
said Monday.

The Kolkata Police were told that the entertainment programme would
be held in the inside fencing area before 'J' block and accordingly
tickets for the block were not sold, the police said.

Later RCE, owned by the King Khan, informed the police that it would
be held below the sight screen before 'F' Block, but no concrete
proposal was given so far, Goyal said.

"If they had given the proposal we would have made arrangements, but
now it is too late for the next match," Goyal said.
