Rani Mukherjee will be doing Mani Ratnam’s next film! It is almost certain that she will be working with him for second time after Yuva . What’s more, Rani Mukherjee will have to romance with the king of South Indian films – superstar Rajnikant.

Mani Ratnam normally maintains secrecy about his projects and doesn’t spill the beans until they get ready for release. But this time, he could not keep it a secret that he is doing his next film with Superstar Rajnikant. Recently, the popular trio of Tamil personalities – Rajnikant, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan – met and discussed the possibility of making a film together. According to sources, Kamal Haasan came forward to produce the film with Rajnikant as the leading hero. Mani Rathnam will be directing for Kamal’s production company.

Although Kamal denied this, insiders say the project is on and will soon take-off. Now comes the question of who gets the honor of doing the female lead in this ambitious project! Well, the name that is being discussed, according to sources close to Mani Ratnam’s camp, is none other than the gorgeous Rani Mukharjee.

Not only the fact that she has a good rapport with Mani Ratnam and had acted in his film but also the fact that helps in her favour is that Rajnikant has for long been wishing to act with Rani Mukherjee. In fact, director Shankar also wanted to cast her in Sivaji – The Boss but she could not adjust bulk dates.

So if everything goes well, Rani will be in this mighty film. This is the second time that Mani Ratnam and Rajnikant will be working together after their hugely successful and critically acclaimed film – Dalapathy , based on the Karna episode of Mahabharat.
