"Lost is back" |"Lost" | "LOST" fourth season on STAR World
The Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning series, Lost is back in its fourth season on STAR World. Season 4 takes the series to new heights as the survivors of Flight Oceanic 815 have a tryst with hope of returning to civilisation and to their loved ones. Premiering April 30 at 10 pm, the series brings all the exciting twists and turns in the tale of these passengers as they get ready to leave the island. The series showcases the quest of 48 passengers on board, a Los Angeles-bound flight after an aircrash on an island in the South Pacific. The story is intelligently woven with the mystery of the island and a specific incidence in each character’s life. Lost brings the metaphor of life alive by focussing on each character who is lost on the island and also lost in his life. Making these characters larger than life are Mathew Fox as Jack, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin Kwon, Josh Hollaway as James ‘Sawyer’ Ford, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Yunjin Kim as Sun Kwon, Terry O’Quinn as John Lock among others.
Rajiv Paul to enter politics
Rajiv Paul is back to acting on the small-screen with Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari on Colors. He is playing Madan Chawla, the youngest son of Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s character. He is shown to be extremely fond of his little sister and has a pretty, lovey-dovey wife too! Says Rajiv, “The best thing about the serial is that it’s not another saas-bahu drama.” The actor was last seen in Kkavyanjali and Twinkle Beauty Parlour, after which he took a break and did Lillette Dubey’s play The Wedding Album. Besides acting, what has caught Rajiv’s attention is politics, which he plans to take up seriously and contest in the next general elections. This year he has been campaigning for various candidates belonging to Congress and the BJP. It was the 26/11 attack on Mumbai that shook him up and proved a defining moment to make him plunge into politics. “I was appalled that we were ruled by bad directionless politicians. As a young, successful person, I wanted to do something about it,” informs Rajiv whose uncle has been a mayor of Ajmer, his hometown. His father has served in the army and was part of the Indian Peace-Keeping Force in Sri Lanka. His mother did not allow him to join the Army, but he has now convinced her that he has to join politics to bring a change in the country.
Madhurima replaces Akanksha Rawat
Akanksha Rawat, who was to play Bindya, Shree’s sister who comes to live with the family and has an important role to play in the storyline in Shree didn’t gel well with her co-stars. She is supposed to have thrown a lot of tantrums too, which made her unpopular on the sets. Consequently, she was shown the door and immediately replaced with Madhurima.
Day of the Chakda
Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum revolves around a well-to-do Gujarati family and is set against the backdrop of Gujarat. The serial recently went all out to get an authentic ambience. For one of the sequences they required a chakda, a typical mode of conveyance quite commonplace in Gujarat. On not being able to get it delivered from Gujarat, the Hats Off Productions’ team decided to fabricate one right here in Mumbai. Their experiment was successful, but on the day of the shoot the chakda refused to budge. The team, instead of giving it up, quickly came up with a solution and manually pushed it on the road for that particular shot. Way to go!
Daredevil Saurabh
Saurabh Pandey, who plays the brave Shaurya in Star Plus Shaurya Aur Suhani, likes to take risks and perform his own stunts. Says Saurabh, “I feel that stunts and action are also a part of acting and the manner in which I would perform the stunt would be in sync with the character, which might not be the same if someone else does it. In short , I feel that I wouldn’t do justice to the action sequence if I am not doing it myself”. So far, the actor has performed many stunts including sword-fighting and horse-riding but “the scariest one was when I had to get into a pond along with an elephant and had to give him a bath; I just love animals and know how they react in different situations. I was a bit unsure about this sequence because elephants don’t like to be disturbed when they are in water, but since the sequence was really important in terms of building Shaurya’s character, I took my chances and thankfully the elephant didn’t get disturbed with my presence inside the pond.” Another incident the actor recalls is when they were shooting a sequence where a prince is coming on a chariot and he was supposed to attack the convoy along with his friends. The sequence took a dangerous turn since one of the wheels of the chariot broke and the horse became uncontrollable. The entire cast and crew moved aside, but one of the actors got stuck in the chariot. “I immediately ran towards the chariot and got my co-actor out of the trap just in time. He suffered a few injuries but thankfully nothing major happened, I always carry my first- aid kit with me and that day it proved very useful.”
New characters in Saat Phere after the leap
Finally Rajshri Thakur has got what she wanted. With Saat Phere taking a leap, the actress alongwith her on-screen husband Sharad Kelkar are out of the serial and a host of new characters have been introduced. The serial will now focus on GenNext with Saloni’s daughters Saawri and Shweta who are now grown up. According to our source, “A nationwide audition was held to get the new faces to play the teenagers in the show. Rachana Parulkar, the Standard XII student of Mumbai’s Mithibai College, is going to play Saawri, while Amrapali essays the role of Shweta. The role of Brijesh and Tara’s son Aditya will be played by a newcomer. Ahem. Vaidehi, Aditi’s daughter, will be essayed by Pooja Sharma, while Samar’s daughter, Nikita will be played by Bhumika. Saawri’s childhood friend Ram Prasad will be played by Kunal Thakur. Saat Phere is a story of Saloni’s daughters Saawri and Shweta. Saawri is Saloni’s real daughter but the family is unaware of that. Saawri keeps it as a secret from everybody so that Shweta, Saloni and Nahar’s adopted daughter, who is a heart patient, does not feel dejected. Saawri stays in the same household as Shweta’s maid. Bhabo wants Shweta to get married now and is in search of a perfect groom. Shweta, on the other hand, falls in love with a guy and keeps on landing in trouble because of her escapades. And Saawri, like a good friend and a sister, keeps bailing her out.
