Katrina Kaif Brit accent bags her role in Dibakar Banerjee’s next film
A weakness in one situation can be strength in another. Katrina Kaif's Brit accent, which came in the way of many of her performances, has now become her advantage.Katrina Kaif has had to do her own struggle to reach where she is today. As someone bred in Britain, she's had to cross many a linguistic hurdle to be able to dub her own Hindi dialogues in films. Previously, they were dubbed by other artists. Though the stunner has learned Hindi better over the years, her dialogue delivery still has much room for improvement.
Now, linguistic shortcoming can be a weak link in the career of many actors. But for once, Katrina's Brit accent has worked in her favour.
Reports say Katrina has managed to bag a leading role in director Dibakar Banerjee's next film because of her accent. Banerjee (whose last film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! got critical acclaim) plans to make a love triangle with a gay angle. Imran Khan and Abhay Deol have reportedly been finalized to play the male leads, while Katrina is set to clinch the female lead part despite her competitor Sonam Kapoor desiring to bag the role.
Apparently, the film's leading lady has a foreign background, and, therefore, Katrina suits the part better than Sonam, who is a typical Indian beauty compared to Katrina's international look and, of course, her Brit twang.
