The Fakir of Venice : Farhan Akhtar
Farhan Akhtar is highly missed on TV these days as his debut on thesmall screen left his fans begging for more. Bollywood and Rock music
lovers are still humming his 'Rock On!' songs and in no time the
Farhan fan following has reached to US of A!
Farhan's English language film 'The Fakir of Venice' which opened the
Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles is running to packed theatres.
An Indian movie lover said, "The film is spellbinding and from the
heart. Farhan's performance is genius." Farhan's film has not only
been doing well commercially but has also been highly appreciated by
the Hollywood media.
According to a popular website HollywoodReporter, "Akhtar, a producer,
director, writer and actor is talented and handsome enough -- and with
looks that could translate into any number of ethnicities -- to have a
huge career ahead of him. His film offers a hint of how creative
Indian filmmakers might widen their audience. The film does not look
or acts like a typical Indian film, whether it be mainstream masala
movies or regional art house films. And it's not because the setting
is mostly non-Indian; it's because the characters, whether Indian or
Italian, are fresh and original, and the challenges they face are
universal."
The film is also being compared to Slumdog Millionaire! Farhan, are
