bollywood producers and multiplex owners fight, tiff Latest News

On Wednesday April 29th night a few select members of the producers forum and the national multiplex chains owners representatives met once again to discuss and resolve the ongoing tussle that has lead to no release strategy adopted by the producers. But alas, the meeting didn't seem to make any new headway.

An industry insider revealed, "There has been no concrete outcome on the issues that were a bone of contention between the warring parties. The meeting went on for hours but ended up with the same no solution mode like it had been the last time. The attitude of both the parties however was very positive and both were aiming for a solution that can be agreeable to both the parties. May be perhaps the next meeting shall have a better outcome. Some proposals were made this time by both the parties which are now going to be studied over."

No film has released since April 10th and the entertainment hungry audiences have been left with no option but to just wait and watch. For weeks there had been no initiation of talks from both the parties and the industrywalas were hopeful that this meeting would help to resolve some issues. The current stand off is affecting not just the regular film goers but also the multiplex employees, most of whom have been either laid off or packed off on a non-paid leave. Multiplexes are struggling to cover costs and are resorting to keeping few screens shut or keeping less number of shows. One just hopes this worse chapter in the history of Hindi cinema ends soon. -
