Is Rihanna victim of domestic violence?|Grammy winner, R&B star Rihanna |

Grammy winner, R&B star Rihanna has been in news ever since she was allegedly assaulted by her beau Chris Brown.

The couple’s relationship has ended bitterly, leaving Rihanna battered and Brown under scrutiny. The episode started when Rihanna along with Chris Brown was due to perform at the Grammy Awards on 8th February, but the duo failed to turn up, and later it was revealed that Rihanna was allegedly attacked by her beau and was hospitalized.

20-year-old Rihanna was reportedly left with cut on her lips, bleeding nose and bruises on her hands. Brown was arrested on February 8 in suspicion of making criminal threats and eventually got bail on $50,000 and is given a March 5 court date. Meanwhile, Rihanna has called off her relationship with Brown, as confirmed by her father. Brown, on the other hand, is feeling “sorry and saddened” by what happened.


Now, the spat between the couple has become fodder for gossip mills. Speculations are being made as to what went wrong with the couple and was this first instance when Rihanna was at the receiving end of her boyfriend’s anger. Rihanna’s last year’s performance at American Music Awards had her wearing a diamond-stoned eye patch, which, as speculated by media, was probably a prop to hide a black eye.

According to reports, Rihanna is being probed by police about her past injuries and violent incidents in her relationship with 19-year-old Chris Brown. Whereas, celebrities like Jay-Z, Jessica Alba and Kerry Washington have come out in support of Rihanna. On many blogs and community sites people have blamed Rihanna instead of Brown.

Rihanna’s publicist, meanwhile, has issued a statement that says: “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support”.
