Jodha Akbar is all set to be released throughout India on 15th February 2008, just a day after Valentines' Day. The period film has been based in sixteenth century and centers on the love story between a king and his queen. A matrimony alliance between Akbar, a great Mughal Emperor, and Jodha, a Rajput princess, leads to a love that surpasses the physical realm. Emperor Akbar, a king for whom success is what matters, is busy in conquering one state after the other.
The result is a huge empire that stretches on from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, from Himalayas to the Godhavari River. Through sheer patience, munificence and power, he manages to the loyalty and commitment of the Rajputs, the most aggressive and powerful Hindus, too. In order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he agrees to a matrimonial alliance with Jodhaa, a Rajput princess and the daughter of King Bharmal of Amer.

However, Jodhaa resents being used for political purposes and seems to be prejudiced against the emperor. Now, Akbar embarks on a journey, of not only becoming a mighty emperor, but also winning the love of Jodhaa's. Jodhaa Akbar traces the success graph as well as the untold love story of the great emperor, in the backdrop of battles, controversies and conspiracies. Whether Jodhaa Akbar manages to impress the audience, we will come to know in a couple of days.

  1. The film is not worth the controversy.I cannot understand how Akbar becme a great emperor when he seems to have spent most of his time with his extended family of wives, concubines etc.But he is a wonderful example for all husbands - patient, tolerant wise etc other than when he is throwing enemies off the roof.
His dervish trance like dance was limp. The song however was great.
